Making Swamp Grass

Today I will share a quick and easy way to make tall grass. Now there is nothing wrong with using premade tufts, I do and like them. Actually for my gators I used swamp tufts along with this tall grass method to create some layers.

First up is gathering the needed supplies. Granted your paint will vary depending on what you have or your color need.

Using the cutters chop off some paint brush bristles. I did some skinny bundles but you can make it any thickness and even cut some to different heights for a good effect.

With the hot glue gun warmed up grab you hard plastic object, my case was the back of a paint pallet. Other options are a plastic lid or wax paper. Bundle up a group of cut bristles in one hand and glue gun in the other. Keep in mind the glue does set fairly quickly. Squeeze out a small amount of glue and stick in the bristles holding for a few seconds. Repeat for how many you want to make.

After they have had time to dry peel them off, you may need to use a scrapper. I found it simple to dip bristles straight into the paint pot.

Finally glue it down to your base along with the other basing. Below are a couple of my fast gator mud swamp basing.

Thanks for reading. Hope this inspires you to experiment and try something new.
