Show about tabletop wargames, including Warmachine and Hordes by Privateer Press. We want to inspire you to play more.
Dan says: I have been a gamer for many years, starting with video games on the NES and working through nearly all the systems. I even picked up an Atari 2600 and Intellivision throughout the years. Tabletop games began with the classic kid games along with a few extras like HeroQuest and Zaxxon. A favorite is Risk, of which I have many versions. At this point my top closet shelf is full of games. My first RPG was D&D as I am sure is the case for many others. I've played Pathfinder, Shadowrun, and Marvel. Tabletop miniatures started with Battletech and culminated in getting hooked on Warmachine and Hordes. I have avoided Warhammer for many years. It has been a great experience starting up the project of Spellstorm Miniatures. Due to family and work as a Realtor, I do not often have time on the weekends to play, but I really enjoy the community. Dan is a regular host of the podcast and contributor to the blog.
Jeremiah says: I am on a mission to play all the games. While this might be a slight exaggeration I love all board games and RPGs and miniatures, especially miniatures. Some of my favorites are Frostgrave, Age of Sigmar and, of course, Warmachine and Hordes. More recently, I am getting into ancient battles, Dropzone Commander, Infinity, and Judgment. Yes, I love miniatures! Jeremiah is a regular host of the podcast and contributor to the blog.
Mike says: Games have always been a great source for good plot and narrative, and I love them for it. My first bit of gaming came in the form of well-loved (beat-to-heck) copies of pen and paper, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness, and GURPS 3rd Ed. I dropped off gaming for a few years 😞. I'd always played theatre of the mind. Playing in a new (to me) D&D group with old and new friends, I discovered Miniatures™. This opened a whole new world of gaming (why had no one told me?). I've only recently started modeling and painting my own minis, but may I say, I'm digging it. So much. Like, a lot. Let's build stories, worlds, and stuff together! Mike is a regular contributor to the blog.
Chadd says: I've been a gamer in some form or another for my entire life. In my younger days I stuck to gaming consoles and card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon, and, of course, Magic. In my early twenties I was introduced to my first minis game, Warmachine and Hordes, and I was hooked. It slated my thirst for strategy and reminded me of the turn-based RPGs I enjoyed so much, but with sweet-looking models added in. In more recent years I've focused less on competitive play and more on modeling and painting. I work full time at a local store in Hillsboro called Rune & Board. You can usually find me there and you can check out the cool minis I've painted in our display case. Chadd is a regular contributor to the podcast and blog.
